Volkswagen Electric SUV Concept Ready for Shanghai

Germany Automaker, Volkswagen these last few years have a lot problem. After the cheating scandal emissions hamper global efforts to encourage diesel models, VW decided to play on EV, and one of the vehicles that will come out of this strategy is a zero-emission SUV which will come in Shanghai.

Battery-powered models will be previewed by a study car in late April, at the Shanghai Auto Show and the production version is expected to out after 2020, as the second EV brand rose from MEB modular architecture, as reported by AutoNews.

Speaking with the publication in 2017 Detroit Auto Show, Volkswagen’s head of design, Klaus Bischoff, declared that the fate of the SUV has been decided, but he refused to give word on whether this will be a compact or midsize model.

Meanwhile, the car is focused on an entirely new electric concept, I.D. which Buzz, which celebrated its premiere at the Motor City. It follows BUDD-e concept of 2015 and comes with a futuristic design, the battery 111 kWh, and two electric motors that push from 0 to 60 mph (96 km / h) within 5 seconds.

By presenting the study in Detroit, Volkswagen is the ultimate goal that generate enough interest to put it into series production, according to Bischoff.
